Three hot Open Source cloud projects part 2

Since I blogged last time the three hot cloud projects have gotten hotter. Docker (docker.com) They have gone from beta container project to creating full orchestration stack with plenty of money in the bank. Unfortunately creating the full orchestration stack had upset CoreOS folks. Docker Machine, Swarm and Compose comprises of the full orchestration stack. While they are still in pre-beta things are very hot and everyone is talking about Docker and nothing else.  Unfortunately I am going to miss the DockerCon in June this year, however looking forward for the next one. CoreOS (coreos.com) They too had a fantastic run so far, with  US $35m funding from none other than Google Ventures for Tectonic  for making Kubernetes for Enterprises. Since last time they too have created multiple stacks supporting containers. DigitalOcean the 2nd largest Hosting Company

According Netcraft : DigitalOcean is now the 2nd largest hosting company. As per the recent Netcraft survey on all web facing server counts they reported that DigitalOcean is the 2nd largest hosting company behind AWS. Growth of DigitalOcean is largely due to  Simplicity and Pricing, not to mention the coolness. Last count they have deployed over 5.6m droplets and 450,000 developers.
